Contact
Write to [email protected]. Corrections, source challenges and topic requests are read and answered. Requests for medical advice are not, because no one here can give it safely without your chart. If you are having a medical emergency, call 911 rather than emailing anyone.
What can I write to you about?
Four things get a reply, usually within a few working days.
- Corrections. Send the page URL and, if you have it, the source that contradicts what is published. This is the most useful email you can send.
- Source challenges. If a figure looks wrong or out of date, say which one. Every number on this site is traceable, so it can be checked.
- Topic requests. If a question you could not get answered anywhere is missing here, it is worth knowing about.
- Permissions. Quoting a paragraph with a link needs no permission. Anything larger does.
What will not get a reply?
Requests for personal medical advice. Not out of rudeness: an answer would need your history, your medications and your labs, and giving one without them would be worse than giving none. The same applies to “what do you think this rash is” and “should I stop taking this”. Those belong to a clinician who can examine you.
Also declined without exception: guest post pitches, sponsored content, paid link insertions, product review requests, and offers to “update” an existing article with a commercial link. The site takes no money from the health industry, which is only meaningful if the answer is always the same.

Where should I go instead for urgent help?
If you think you are having a heart attack, a stroke, a severe allergic reaction, or any pregnancy or postpartum emergency such as heavy bleeding, a severe headache with vision changes, or chest pain, call 911. If you are in crisis or thinking about suicide, call or text 988 to reach the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline in the United States. If you need a poison exposure handled, call 1-800-222-1222 for the national Poison Help line.
None of these are this site’s services. They are the numbers worth having, and they answer faster than any inbox.
Common questions
How fast do you reply?
Usually within a few working days. Corrections are prioritised over everything else, and a factual error is often fixed on the page before the reply is sent.
Do you have a phone number or a mailing address?
No public phone line. Email is the contact channel, and it is monitored by the editor rather than by a team, which is why the reply is a real answer rather than a template.
Can I ask you to remove an article about a product?
Requests to remove accurate, sourced information are declined. Requests to correct something inaccurate are welcomed, and the source that shows the error is what moves it.
